To pay attention, this is our endless and proper work.

A resident of New York City, Maria Hadge is a cellist who feels equally at home with contemporary music, free improvisation, and musical theater. Recent credits include 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Little Women, Bright Star, and Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish at Stage 42. Her playing has taken her around the globe, performing with artists such as Mitski, Monica Bellucci, and Judy Collins. As a freelance artist, her playing has been featured on albums with New Focus Records, Intakt Records, and Indexical.

From 2014-2023, Hadge performed as a core member of Ensemble Mise-En, which regularly promotes works by emerging composers, participates in residencies and festivals around the world, and collaborates with established composers. As a member of Luminous Sounds, she plays pop arrangements and classical tunes for private events and weddings in New York City and Long Island. As a pit musician, Hadge is active locally and also finds herself in New Hampshire surprisingly frequently.

Outside of performing, Hadge enjoys running, baking bread, and embroidering. She can be found most days at Reed-Yeboah Fine Violins as Managerial Assistant and (self-titled) Cello Keeper.
